Africa Cup of Nations Winners List
The Africa Cup of Nations is the premier international football tournament for African nations. Founded in 1957, it has undergone various scheduling changes since then.
It has been held every two years since 1968, switching to odd-numbered years in 2013 so as not to clash with the World Cup.
Egypt hold the record for the most AFCON wins with seven, with Cameroon (five) and Ghana (four) rounding off the top three.
The reigning champions are Ivory Coast, who beat Nigeria in the most recent final. Here’s the full list of AFCON winners:
