Roy Keane picks out England star who can inspire others after Croatia win

Former Manchester United star Roy Keane praised Jude Bellingham following his brilliant display in England’s 7-0 victory over Croatia in the Nations League on Saturday.

Bellingham bagged one goal and three assists, becoming the first England midfielder to register four goal involvements since David Platt in February 1993.

The 23-year-old created the most chances (eight), completed the joint-most dribbles (four) and had the most touches (108).

The Real Madrid midfielder was voted the Three Lions’ man of the match.

Keane praised Bellingham, highlighting his outstanding abilities with and without the ball.

“Bellingham can go on to become one of the greatest players of all time,” Keane told ITV.

“His attitude for England recently – I have been praising him for being fantastic in possession, but what he is doing out of possession, that lifts all these players.

“If you have a player who is that good in your team, who is amazing in possession and is playing for Real Madrid and doing brilliant things, but his work rate off the ball, that will inspire all the other players.”

Bellingham registered 14 ground duels, one tackle, one interception and two recoveries, highlighting his defensive contributions.

The former Borussia Dortmund star was England’s best player at the World Cup and was recently named their Player of the Year.
