AC Milan are already considering squad additions as they look to return to the Champions League under manager Ruben Amorim.
According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have Real Madrid’s Endrick at the top of their transfer shortlist.
Endrick could shine as one of the inside forwards in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 set-up. Amorim also used a conventional 4-3-3 in the win over Lecce, where Endrick can also fit in.
Milan did not sign a marquee forward to replace Rafael Leao this summer, and Endrick is a potentially excellent pick-up for the seven-time European champions.
The Brazilian caught the eye during his explosive spell in Lyon but continues to be neglected at Madrid, where he has fallen down the pecking order.
Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi have taken the centre-forward berth while Yan Diomande and Brahim Diaz start on the right side of the attack, leaving Endrick out in the cold.
Several clubs wanted the 20-year-old after his exciting Lyon stint, where he bagged eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances.]
Milan have a great relationship with Madrid. They helped develop Diaz for several seasons and could pull the same move for Endrick.
Roma are also interested, while Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal looked his way some time ago. Liverpool could also use him to replace Mohamed Salah.
Endrick is desperate to prove he belongs at Madrid, but he may now have to accept that his best route to the top is away from the club.
He cannot afford to spend another season watching opportunities pass him by, particularly after showing his quality during his spell in Lyon.
If Madrid cannot offer him a genuine pathway into the first team, another loan move could be the smartest solution.
Endrick needs regular football, responsibility and the chance to prove his mettle, and Milan could provide the perfect platform for him to do exactly that.
