Salah hat-trick spearheads Trabzonspor to 4-0 win over Galatasaray

Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick to help Trabzonspor beat champions Galatasaray 4-0 in the Turkish Super Lig today.

The forward is the first player to be involved in four goals against Galatasaray in a Super Lig match in over ten seasons.

He opened the scoring in the fourth minute, racing clear before slotting past Ugurcan Cakir.

Salah then set up Saviolo, who coolly curled a delightful finish beyond the Turkish goalkeeper to double the lead moments later.

Trabzonspor had tamed Galatasaray before half-time as Salah bagged his second after Davinson Sanchez was dispossessed.

The 34-year-old completed the hat-trick with another goal in the 80th minute.

He has now registered seven goals and two assists in six Super Lig matches to help his side up to fifth place. They are now within three points of Galatasaray.

Salah tops the goalscoring charts and is making his mark in the Turkish league after years of dominating the Premier League.

He could probably still do a job for Liverpool, who haven’t quite properly replaced him following his departure this summer.

The Reds signed Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz, two players who prefer to be on the left, to replace him.

They still miss a natural, lethal forward running down their right wing and will need to fill that void soon.
