Lewis Hall agrees to new contract with Newcastle United

Lewis Hall is set to sign a new contract with Newcastle United, according to transfer reporter Ben Jacobs,

Hall is impressed by new manager Matthias Jaissle and wants to continue his career at Newcastle.

The talented left-back has started the opening three Premier League matches this season. He set up Harvey Barnes’ goal in Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Hall’s current contract does not expire until 2029, but the club are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

The England international has significantly enhanced his reputation since joining Newcastle in 2023.

He has made 106 senior appearances and helped Newcastle win the 2024-25 League Cup.

Newcastle lost several key players this summer. Eddie Howe also stepped down as manager.

Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes were sold. However, the Magpies refused to entertain offers for Hall.

Manchester United have been linked with an interest in Hall. They view him as the ideal long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.

Shaw is a quality defender who has featured in all three league games for United this season.

However, he has turned 31 and is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.
