Jeremy Doku signs new Manchester City contract

Manchester City have confirmed that Jeremy Doku has signed a new five-year contract. 

The 24-year-old had entered the last two years of his previous deal, but the new contract has secured his future at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.

Doku said he is looking forward to working with new manager Enzo Maresca.

“I’ve been watching the friendly games in Korea and the style of play is very attractive,” he said.

“But already when he was in his previous clubs, I saw this style of play. It really suits me, with the wingers being very aggressive.”

Doku has significantly enhanced his reputation as one of the best wide players in Europe since joining City from Stade Rennais in a £55 million deal in 2023. 

He has bagged 22 goals and 34 assists in 131 appearances across all competitions. The Belgian has helped City win a Premier League title, the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. 

The winger has a fine eye for goal and is renowned for his blistering pace, brilliant close control and excellent dribbling skills. 

Doku has earned 48 caps for Belgium and featured for them at the recent World Cup. He started four games as the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals.

He becomes the club’s fourth first-team player to sign an extension this summer after Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov.
