Barcelona striker Ferran Torres agrees to join PSG

Barcelona striker Ferran Torres has agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain, per Spanish outlet Marca. 

The Spaniard has agreed to sign a four-year deal with PSG. The French club are prepared to pay around €50 million for the 26-year-old. 

The Ligue 1 giants are desperate to reinforce their attack after the departures of Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani in the summer transfer window. 

PSG have firmly set their sights on Torres, who was the hero for Spain at the World Cup. He scored the decisive goal for his country in the final against Argentina. 

Torres has been an important player for Barcelona since joining them from Manchester City in December 2021. 

He scored 21 goals in 49 appearances last season, helping the Catalan club retain the La Liga crown and win the Supercopa de Espana. 

However, the forward also went 14 games without scoring between late January and mid-April. 

If Barcelona had extended Torres’ contract, they would have had to pay an additional €8m to City. They have already paid an initial €55m fee plus €10m in add-ons.
