Aston Villa reject Serie A club’s ‘tiny offer’ for World Cup finalist 

Aston Villa have turned down Juventus’ ‘tiny offer’ for Emiliano Martinez, per journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. 

The Serie A club are looking to sign a new goalkeeper to compete with Michele Di Gregorio for the starting role. 

They submitted a bid worth around £5 million for Martinez, which was quickly rebuffed.

Villa are under no immediate pressure to sell, as the Argentinian is under contract until 2029. 

The club recently eased their financial concerns by sanctioning a £117m transfer of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea. 

Martinez produced a masterclass in Sunday’s World Cup final against Spain, recording 11 saves. 

The 33-year-old started all eight matches for Argentina at the tournament, keeping two clean sheets.

He was close to joining Manchester United last summer, but Villa refused to sanction the move.

Martinez had an impressive 2025-26 season, playing a key role in helping his club win the Europa League title and secure Champions League qualification. 

He made 44 appearances across all competitions, keeping 14 clean sheets. 

Villa could allow him to leave this summer as they look to trim their wage bill, but they are unwilling to sell him for a low fee.
