Nottingham Forest reject Manchester City’s opening bid for Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have stepped up their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.

However, Forest have rejected their opening offer, according to The Athletic.

Forest believe the transfer fees of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Declan Rice, all of whom were signed for more than £100 million, should be used as a benchmark for any negotiations.

Manchester United are also interested in the midfielder, but have no intention of matching his valuation.

Anderson joined Forest in a £35m deal from Newcastle United in 2024. He has now established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

His rapid rise has been recognised internationally, with the 23-year-old now a key player for England. He is expected to play a key role at this summer’s World Cup.

City will be looking to complete a deal for Anderson before the World Cup, as Forest could increase his valuation if he impresses this summer.

The Cityzens are prioritising a move for the Newcastle academy graduate following Bernardo Silva’s departure.

Man City have also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza and Hertha Berlin’s Kennet Eichhorn.
