Bayern Munich target Ismael Saibari after missing out on Anthony Gordon

Bayern Munich have reportedly moved quickly in their search for attacking reinforcements by opening talks with PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari.

The Bundesliga champions are reassessing their options after losing out to Barcelona in the race to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

With Gordon already agreeing a move to Camp Nou, Bayern have turned their attention towards one of the Eredivisie’s standout performers.

Initial discussions have already taken place between Bayern and Saibari’s representatives.

The Moroccan international is open to joining the German giants and is enthusiastic about a potential move this summer.

While negotiations are still in the early stages, Bayern’s interest highlights the growing reputation Saibari has built following another excellent season with PSV.

The 25-year-old was one of the key figures behind PSV’s domestic success and produced some of the best numbers of his career during the 2025-26 campaign.

Saibari bagged 19 goals and nine assists in 37 appearances across all competitions as PSV secured another league title.

His influence was particularly evident in the Eredivisie, where he consistently contributed goals and creativity from midfield.

His versatility is one of the main attractions for Bayern. Although primarily deployed as an attacking midfielder, Saibari is capable of operating across several attacking positions.

He can play on either wing, behind the striker or even as a central forward when required.

That flexibility is believed to align closely with Bayern’s recruitment plans as they look to add depth and variety to their attacking options.

The club are keen to reduce their reliance on Harry Kane while also increasing competition across the front line.

Saibari’s ability to contribute goals from multiple positions makes him an attractive option.

The biggest question now surrounds PSV’s valuation of the player. No formal asking price has been disclosed, although his market value is currently estimated at around €40 million.

Given his importance to the Dutch champions and the length of his contract, PSV are expected to demand a significant fee before considering a sale.

Saibari is currently preparing for the upcoming World Cup with Morocco, where another strong tournament could further increase interest in his services.

Opening talks early could prove crucial for Bayern if they want to avoid another transfer disappointment after missing out on Gordon.
