Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Bournemouth jewel Eli Junior Kroupi

Bayern Munich are tracking the progress of Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, according to TZ.

They recently missed out on Anthony Gordon, who is joining Barcelona from Newcastle United.

They are scouring the market for another option as they aim to provide competition for Luis Diaz.

Bayern admire Yan Diomande, but they don’t want to pay the €100 million fee RB Leipzig will demand.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are particularly keen on signing Diomande. Behind the scenes, there’s a dispute between the player’s agents.

Bayern have now turned to Kroupi, who is slightly less expensive at €80m. However, Bournemouth desperately want to keep him.

Ajax’s Mika Godts is another option, but Eli Kroupi is higher on their transfer shortlist.

Bayern are not the right club for Kroupi

Kroupi needs to think very carefully before considering any proposal if Bayern intend to deploy him primarily on the left wing. That is not where his long-term future lies.

The Frenchman is a centre-forward first and foremost. He is a sharp, instinctive striker who thrives in front of the box and attacks space aggressively.

At Bournemouth, his development needs to remain focused on refining those striker instincts rather than learning an entirely different role out wide.

Too many young forwards have stalled after being moved into a different position simply because of their athleticism and technical quality.

If Bayern were signing him as a genuine long-term successor to Harry Kane, the transfer would make complete sense.

Learning behind one of the greatest strikers of his generation could elevate El Kroupi to another level.

But bringing him in mainly to fill a left-wing vacancy feels misguided.

Bayern need a specialist winger there, not a developing striker being moulded into something else.
