Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, ensuring their Premier League survival.
Joao Palhinha’s 43rd-minute strike was enough for Spurs to secure the victory.
They finished the season with 41 points, three more than the previous campaign. They finished in 17th place for the second consecutive season.
Read on as we look at where Tottenham must strengthen this summer.
Goalkeeper
Guglielmo Vicario has been unconvincing this season, and he is already linked with a move away from the club. Antonin Kinsky is also unreliable, despite his strong finish to the season.
Spurs need a new man in between the sticks, providing consistency and reliability that they have been missing since Hugo Lloris’ exit.
James Trafford would be a solid signing. The England international is considering leaving Manchester City in search of more game time.
Centre-backs
Spurs must sign a new centre-back to replace erratic captain Cristian Romero. Barcelona have made him a priority target, potentially allowing Spurs to offload him.
Radu Dragusin should also be allowed to leave, after failing to convince since joining from Genoa in 2024.
Marcos Senesi would be a good replacement for Romero. They are leading the race to sign the Argentine.
Luka Vuskovic’s return from his brilliant loan spell at Hamburger would also give them more quality options.
Central midfield
Spurs signed Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid in the winter transfer window, but they still need to strengthen in the middle of the park.
Yves Bissouma should be sold to pave the way for a dynamic central midfielder.
Left-wing
Mathys Tel played mostly as Spurs’ left-winger this season, while Wilson Odobert and Randal Kolo-Muani have also played there.
The trio scored just five league goals between them, suggesting an improvement is needed in that position.
Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure would be a good addition. However, Tottenham’s failure to qualify for Europe may scupper their hopes of signing him.
