Arsenal could make a surprising move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. 

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are closely monitoring the 28-year-old’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window. 

Arsenal are in the market for a left winger, with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard facing uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium. 

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last summer, and he has impressed in Spain. 

The England international has bagged 13 goals and 14 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions. 

The Catalan club can trigger his £26 million buy-out clause at the end of the season. 

However, they want to renegotiate that clause or attempt to secure another loan move for him. 

United have made it clear there will be no haggling over Rashford. 

They are desperate to reduce their wage bill, with the forward’s salary set to go above £300,000-a-week after securing Champions League qualification. 

They would prefer to sell Rashford, who doesn’t have a long-term future at Old Trafford. 

He is happy at Barcelona and keen to extend his stay. 

Manager Hansi Flick has been impressed with his performances, but the club won’t meet United’s demand.
