Harry Kane returns to training in huge Bayern boost ahead of Real Madrid Champions League clash

Harry Kane has trained with the rest of the Bayern Munich squad ahead of their blockbuster clash against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, the Standard reports.

The European juggernauts are scheduled to lock horns in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Kane had emerged as a major doubt after he was forced off in England’s 1-0 international friendly defeat to Japan on Tuesday.

England manager Thomas Tuchel described it as a ‘minor injury’ that came ‘out of nothing’. But it was enough to keep Kane out of Bayern’s most recent outing.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany then confirmed that Kane had suffered an ankle injury that ruled him out of Saturday’s trip to SC Freiburg.

However, the Belgian was confident that his elite striker wouldn’t spend too long out of the loop.

Bayern were able to get by without their marksman but were forced to do it the hard way.

Freiburg looked destined to claim a rare win over Bayern after establishing a 2-0 lead with just 19 minutes remaining.

However, it was enough for the champions to mount a spectacular comeback as Kompany’s troops turned the dial in the dying embers.

A stunning double from Tom Bischof got Bayern level in stoppage time before the highly rated Lennart Karl snatched the winner with a last-gasp strike.

Fortunately for Kompany, he’ll be able to call on Kane for tomorrow’s trip to the Spanish capital.

The England captain couldn’t have picked a better time to shake off his ankle setback. He reportedly took part in Monday’s training session and should be fit to face Madrid tomorrow.
