Inter Milan set sights on signing €20m Tottenham Hotspur star

Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario this summer.

According to CalcioMercato.it, Inter are considering a move for the 29-year-old and could pay around €20 million to sign him.

Several other Italian clubs are also keen on Vicario, but they are determined to beat their rivals in the race to sign him.

Yann Sommer is currently Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper. He has kept 14 clean sheets in 28 Serie A games this season.

Sommer has been a reliable presence between the sticks since joining the club in 2023, featuring in 134 matches across all competitions.

However, he has turned 37, and Inter want to sign a younger goalkeeper.

The Serie A club still plan to retain Sommer for next season, but as a back-up option.

Vicario has endured a challenging season with Spurs, who are battling to survive in the Premier League.

While he is not solely to blame, the Italian has conceded 50 goals in 31 league games this season. He has kept just seven clean sheets.

He is contracted with the Lilywhites until 2028, but they could look to cash in on him this summer.

Tottenham’s sole focus at the moment is avoiding a drop to the Championship.

With seven games remaining, they are just a point above 17th-placed West Ham United

Spurs have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager. His first assignment is at Sunderland on Sunday.
