Chelsea hit seven past Port Vale to reach the FA Cup semi-final

Chelsea defeated Port Vale 7-0 in the quarter-final of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead inside the opening 64 seconds after Port Vale goalkeeper Joe Gauci failed to deal with Pedro Neto’s corner. Jorrel Hato finished from close range.

The Valiants could’ve responded immediately when Rhys Walters dragged his effort to the back post, but Ben Waine couldn’t reach the ball in time.

Joao Pedro doubled the Blues’ advantage in the 25th minute after Neto latched onto a long ball from Andrey Santos. He squared the ball across for the Brazilian to finish into the bottom corner.

Chelsea made it 3-0 via an own goal as Malo Gusto’s strike was parried by Gauci into the path of Cole Palmer. His effort came off Jordan Gabriel and into his own net.

The Blues almost extended their lead after the break as Santos picked out Estevao Willian, but his first-time effort came off the post.

Tosin Adarabioyo added a fourth for the Blues after he met Gusto’s cross with a thumping header.

Estevao came close to scoring again as he almost picked out the bottom corner, but his effort struck the post.

Santos made it five in the 69th minute after he met Estevao’s corner from close range.

Estevao got Chelsea’s sixth after he tapped home a rebound off the post.

Alejandro Garnacho completed the scoring from the penalty spot, sending Gauci the wrong way.

Chelsea are set to make their seventh appearance at Wembley Stadium in the last ten seasons.
