Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they have parted company with Igor Tudor as their interim manager.
The Croatian was appointed to replace Thomas Frank last month, but endured a disastrous reign.
Tudor lost his opening four matches before his team picked up a point by holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.
The Lilywhites won their Champions League last-16 second leg against Atletico Madrid, but suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest last week.
With seven games left in the season, Tottenham are in serious danger of dropping down to the Championship. They currently sit just a point and a place above the relegation zone.
Favourites to take over Tottenham after Tudor’s departure
Tudor’s assistant Bruno Saltor will oversee training for now, but Spurs expect to have a new manager in place for their next league game at Sunderland.
Sean Dyche has emerged as a top contender for the managerial role.
Dyche was sacked by Forest last month, but he has the experience of helping clubs avoid relegation, including Everton and Burnley.
The English boss recently quashed rumours he is in talks with Tottenham, but described them as a ‘brilliant club’. This suggests he could be open to the job of saving them from relegation.
Former Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi is another candidate to fill the vacancy. However, he may be unwilling to join on a short-term contract.
The club could also face opposition from several supporters’ groups, who have expressed concern about De Zerbi’s previous public support for Mason Greenwood.
Greenwood had charges of attempted rape and assault dropped in February 2023 when he was a Manchester United player.
Fulham manager Marco Silva and former Monaco boss Adi Hutter are also in the running for the job.
