Mohamed Salah has announced his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after a successful nine-year spell at the club.
While many people believe he damaged his legacy after a bitter fall-out with the club towards the end of last year, his time at the club will be viewed in a favourable light.
Here are ten moments that defined Salah’s time with Liverpool
First Liverpool goal against Watford (2017)
The goal marked the beginning of Salah’s incredible scoring streak, paving the way for records and major trophies for the Merseyside giants.
Breaking the 32-goal Premier League record (2017/18)
Salah set a new milestone for most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season at the time. That record has since been surpassed by Erling Braut Haaland’s 36-goal haul in 2022/23.
Winning Liverpool’s first league title in 30 years
He played a crucial role in ending the drought, bagging 19 goals and 11 assists in 34 games.
Penalty in the 2018/19 Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur
Big players are expected to deliver in the biggest moments, and Salah did that, converting from the penalty spot as Liverpool won their sixth Champions League title.
Goal against Manchester United from Alisson Becker’s assist (2020)
His speed, calmness, and composure in finishing a counter-attack epitomised Salah at his best. One of his best goals for the Reds.
Solo goal against Manchester City (2021)
Widely regarded as one of his finest Liverpool goals. The Egyptian weaved past several City players before putting the ball home.
Record-breaking Champions League goal against FC Midtjylland (2020)
Salah scored in a 1-1 draw against Midtjylland in 2020, becoming the Reds’ top scorer in the Champions League.
Most goal involvements for a single Premier League club
Following his assist in a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in December, he became the player with the most goal involvements for a single club in Premier League history, overtaking Wayne Rooney.
Milestone strike against Man United (2023)
Salah netted twice in a 7-0 thrashing of Man United at Anfield. His brace took him to the summit of Liverpool’s scoring chart in the Premier League, overtaking Robbie Fowler.
Historic 2024/25 Premier League campaign
The Egyptian international was central to Liverpool’s Premier League triumph last season.
He is the first player to win the Golden Boot, Playmaker award and Premier League Player of the Season award in a single season.
