Salah says Liverpool’s FA Cup hopes depend on ‘one of the best in the world’ Szoboszlai

Liverpool produced a dominant display to edge Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds went ahead through Curtis Jones in the first half before Dominic Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah completed the scoring after the break.

Szoboszlai impressed yet again for the Reds, continuing his brilliant form this term.

The 25-year-old scored a brilliant goal to double Liverpool’s lead, rifling the ball home with a first-time shot to cap off a brilliant team move.

He has now netted 10 times across all competitions – two more than his best individual tally of eight goals for the Reds.

Speaking to TNT Sports on whether Liverpool can win the FA Cup, Salah said success would depend on Szoboszlai’s performance.

He said: “It’s going to depend on his [Dominik Szoboszlai] performances. He is one of the best players in the world right now. It’s good for everyone, and I hope we can do it again.”

Szoboszlai delivered an all-round display that will please manager Arne Slot.

The Hungarian completed 47 of his 48 passes – 27 of which were made in the opposition area. He also made two key passes.

The former RB Leipzig man also made two clearances, four recoveries and blocked one shot.

Szoboszlai’s future was cast in doubt after Florian Wirtz’s arrival last summer, but he has been Liverpool’s most consistent performer this term.

Manager Arne Slot needs him to continue delivering consistently to strengthen his side’s chances of winning the FA Cup and securing Champions League qualification.
