Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The 51-year-old informed chairman Steve Parish of his decision during the October international break, ending long-running speculation about his future.
Glasner said the decision was driven by a desire for a ‘new challenge’ rather than transfer policy or recent results.
He stressed he has not held talks with any other club and remains fully committed to Palace for the remainder of the campaign.
Glasner departs having secured his place in the club’s history by delivering their first major trophy last season.
Palace beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final, a victory that also secured European qualification for the first time.
Glasner has also overseen the club’s debut campaign in a major European competition, with Palace currently competing in the Europa Conference League.
Despite those achievements, the announcement comes during a difficult run of form.
Palace are winless in nine matches across all competitions and were knocked out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage by non-league Macclesfield.
Glasner insisted that the timing of his decision to make it public was coincidental and not influenced by recent setbacks.
He explained that the club had delayed the announcement to avoid distractions during the transfer window and during periods of positive momentum.
The Austrian said clarity was now needed to move forward positively and refocus on performances on the pitch.
Palace currently sit 13th in the Premier League after 21 matches.
Glasner has challenged his players to push for a strong finish to the season and target the club’s highest-ever Premier League points total.
He also said he will do everything possible to add another trophy before his departure.
Glasner took charge at Selhurst Park in February 2024 following Roy Hodgson’s resignation.
He made an immediate impact, guiding Palace to tenth place with six wins from their final seven league matches/
The following campaign ended with a 12th-place finish alongside the historic FA Cup triumph.
Before joining Palace, Glasner enjoyed success with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
He won the Europa League in his first season there and left the club in 2023 after a seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga.
Glasner will leave Palace this summer as one of the most successful managers in the club’s history.
