Liverpool’s stance on Mohamed Salah’s future revealed

Liverpool fully expect Mohamed Salah to finish the season at Anfield, according to The Athletic

The 33-year-old is currently engaged at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Egypt are preparing to meet Senegal in the semi-final on Wednesday.

He has been excellent at the tournament, scoring four goals in four matches.

However, Salah’s future on Merseyside is uncertain after his stunning comments last month

He accused the club of ‘throwing him under the bus’ and said his relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed. Salah was dropped after the explosive interview.

Despite the recent uncertainty, the Reds fully expect the experienced forward to remain at the club until at least the summer.

It is hoped that his situation will settle down and he stays for the rest of his contract, which expires in 2027.

A summer exit is also possible if the club and the player do not sort out the issues.

He has no shortage of suitors, with Saudi Arabia prepared to do whatever it can to bring him to the Middle East

Salah has been an integral part of Liverpool since joining the club from Roma in 2017. He has helped them win two Premier League titles and a Champions League.

The Egypt international has failed to make the same impact this season, netting four goals in 14 top-flight appearances.
