West Ham plan to back Nuno in winter transfer window

West Ham United plan to back manager Nuno Espirito Santo in the winter transfer window, per BBC Sport

Nuno has been facing scrutiny after a run of three consecutive defeats left the Hammers in the relegation zone.

The Portuguese boss took over in September after the club dismissed Graham Potter following a disastrous start to the season

After starting with four matches without a win, Nuno led his team to just one defeat in six to revive hopes of a resurgence.

However, that proved to be a false dawn with West Ham losing their next three matches against Aston Villa, Manchester City and Fulham.

Despite recent poor results, the club’s hierarchy are firmly behind Nuno as they plan to make funds available for new signings next month.

West Ham have been in decline since they parted company with David Moyes at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Fans were unhappy with his negative style of play.

They have since sacked two managers, with Julen Lopetegui and Potter both failing to deliver the desired results.

Nuno who worked wonders at Nottingham Forest. He led the Tricky Trees to a Europa League spot, but was sacked after a public fallout with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

West Ham’s decision to back Nuno in the transfer market will boost their chances of avoiding relegation.
