Antoine Semenyo favouring Manchester City switch

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo is prioritising a move to Manchester City in the winter transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Ghana international has been one of the standout players in English football this term and is unsurprisingly wanted by several top clubs.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Semenyo.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also suitors, although the former have recently decided against a move after an initial enquiry. Semenyo rejected Tottenham.

Semenyo has a £65 million release clause valid for the first 10 days in January, and Bournemouth are resigned to losing him next month.

City are keen to land Semenyo as they aim to chase down Arsenal for the Premier League title. They are currently two points shy of top spot.

Semenyo is comfortable playing on either side of the front three and also combines defensive discipline with his work at the top end of the pitch.

His potential arrival at the Etihad Stadium could open the door to the departures of Savinho and Oscar Bobb, who have struggled for opportunities.
