European teams who can secure World Cup qualification this week

England became the first European side to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after their emphatic 5-0 victory against Latvia last month.

More teams can book their tickets for the World Cup in the qualifiers this week.

Switzerland will qualify if they defeat Sweden on Saturday and Kosovo fail to beat Slovenia. A draw will also be sufficient for Switzerland if Kosovo lose.

France will be guaranteed to qualify if they beat Ukraine on Thursday.

Spain will also secure a place at the World Cup if they overcome Georgia on Saturday and Turkey fail to win against Bulgaria.

Portugal will secure their place in the finals with a victory over Ireland on Thursday. The Selecao can also qualify with a draw if Hungary suffer defeat against Armenia.

The Netherlands have enjoyed an excellent qualifying campaign, picking up 16 points from six games. They will qualify if they beat Poland on Friday.

Norway will reach their first World Cup since 1998 with victory against Estonia, provided Italy do not triumph over Moldova on Thursday.

Austria will guarantee their place in the World Cup finals if they defeat Cyprus and Bosnia & Herzegovina do not win against Romania.

Croatia only need to avoid defeat in Friday’s home clash with the Faroe Islands to secure a spot. Belgium will qualify if they triumph in Kazakhstan this weekend.

Germany, Denmark and Scotland are also in strong positions to qualify.
