Paris Saint-Germain entertain Bayern Munich on Matchday 4 in the 2025/26 Champions League on Tuesday.
Both teams have won each of their opening three matches and currently occupy the top two spots in the standings.
Paris Saint-Germain preview
PSG have not been at their swashbuckling best of late, but just about did enough to see off the threat of Nice in Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash thanks to Goncalo Ramos’s last-gasp winner.
Luis Enrique’s men are now unbeaten in eight straight matches across all competitions, albeit only winning three of the last six outings.
Having beaten Barcelona early in the league phase, PSG will relish the chance to get the better of another title contender.
However, they have managed just one victory from the last five matches against Bayern heading into Tuesday’s clash.
That solitary triumph was in the Club World Cup quarter-final this summer, where second-half goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele sealed a 2-0 win.
Bayern Munich preview
Since losing to PSG back in July, Bayern have won 18 matches in a row, including all 15 across all competitions to start the 2025-26 season.
Despite ringing the changes for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Bayer Leverkusen last time out, Vincent Kompany’s men ran out emphatic 3-0 winners with all goals coming in the first half.
Bayern are currently enjoying their best-ever start to a campaign, but the upcoming trip to Paris poses a stern test to their perfect record.
Tuesday’s visitors have flown out of the blocks more often than not, opening the scoring in 17 of their last 18 outings.
Another bright start in the French capital would put them in a strong position to claim maximum points.
Team news
Desire Doue is currently nursing a muscle problem that is set to keep him out of a second straight match.
Ilya Zabarnyi is also out of contention after he was sent off in PSG’s last European outing against Leverkusen.
Captain Marquinhos will return to the starting XI to partner Willian Pacho in defence.
Long-term absentees Alphonso Davies (knee), Hiroki Ito (foot) and Jamal Musiala will miss out for Bayern.
However, Musiala is making remarkable progress towards returning to action.
Paris Saint-Germain Predicted XI (4-3-3): Chevalier; Mendes, Pacho, Marquinhos, Hakimi; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.
Bayern Munich Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Tah, Upamecano, Boey; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Diaz, Gnabry; Kane.
