Lyon open talks with Real Madrid for Endrick loan

Olympique Lyon have opened talks with Real Madrid over a potential January loan deal for Brazilian striker Endrick.

Lyon want the 19-year-old on a six-month loan as they continue to search for a new first-choice centre-forward following Georges Mikautadze’s late summer departure to Villarreal.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano first reported that discussions had begun, and L’Equipe have since confirmed that Lyon have been exploring the move for several days.

Talks are understood to be progressing between Lyon and representatives from Roc Nation, the agency that manages Endrick’s career.

Although neither party has commented publicly, Endrick has been made aware of Lyon’s approach and views the project positively.

The teenager has yet to feature for Madrid this season and views Lyon as the ideal environment for regular football ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Lyon have made a strong start to the campaign, sitting just two points behind Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 and boasting a perfect record in the Europa League.

Their early-season form and attacking set-up are believed to have impressed Endrick, who wants to pay regularly to maintain his place in Brazil’s national team plans.

However, negotiations are complicated. Madrid are expected to demand a loan fee and require Lyon to cover a significant portion of Endrick’s reported €400,000 monthly salary.

Spanish and German clubs are also monitoring the situation, meaning Lyon will face competition if they wish to finalise a deal when the January window opens.

Endrick’s arrival would fill a major gap in Pierre Sage’s squad, which currently relies on Martin Satriano as a rotational option rather than a starting striker.

The Uruguayan joined from Lens before Mikautadze’s exit, leaving Lyon short of a natural focal point in attack.

Endrick’s openness to the move has given the French club encouragement, but Madrid’s stance will ultimately determine whether the transfer becomes a reality.
