Bryan Mbeumo rejected Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham & Newcastle to join Manchester United

Bryan Mbeumo turned down four Premier League clubs to join Manchester United in the summer.

The highly-rated forward rejected Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in favour of a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham were willing to go above the Red Devils’ bids, and Brentford tried to convince Mbeumo to choose them due to the increased financial package.

But the 26-year-old declined as he only wanted to join United.

Brentford rejected two offers from Man Utd before accepting a bid worth £71 million this summer.

He has made an excellent start to life in Manchester, recording four goals and an assist in nine Premier League matches.

The Cameroon international scored the opening goal in United’s 2-1 triumph over Liverpool at Anfield.

He followed that up with a second-half brace against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, helping his team win 4-2 at Old Trafford.

United have been criticised for poor recruitment over the past years.

However, they spent their money wisely last summer by signing Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens.

All three players have been performing impressively for Ruben Amorim’s side, who have turned a corner since the 3-1 loss at Brentford in September.

United have won their last three top-flight games and currently sit sixth in the table with 16 points.
