The Champions League returns on Tuesday with nine exciting matches.
We have picked out some of the best storylines to watch tonight.
Arsenal aim to continue their superb run of form
Since the 1-1 draw with Manchester City in September, Arsenal have won their last five outings in all competitions.
The Gunners are top of the Premier League standings and have also won their opening two Champions League fixtures against Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos.
They face a massive test against Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. Atletico thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in their previous European game.
Woltemade ready to fire again
Not many people were convinced when Newcastle United splashed £69 million to bring in Nick Woltemade, but he has proved his doubters wrong.
The German has already scored five goals in eight senior appearances, including a sensational effort in Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Newcastle will look for inspiration from their in-form striker when they host Jose Mourinho’s Benfica tonight.
City will not take Villarreal lightly
Manchester City were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw at Monaco at the start of this month following Eric Dier’s last-minute penalty.
Pep Guardiola’s side will be eager to pick up maximum points from Tuesday’s fixture, but beating Villarreal in their own stadium will be challenging for the Premier League giants.
Marcelino’s men are yet to win in the Champions League this season, but they sit third in La Liga after collecting 17 points from nine matches.
Barcelona look to clinch their second victory in Europe
Barcelona made a positive start to the Champions League campaign by beating Newcastle United 2-1 at St James’ Park.
However, Hansi Flick’s men suffered a loss by the same scoreline against Paris Saint-Germain in Catalonia.
Barcelona have a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways in Europe as they face Greek outfit Olympiacos at home tonight.
PSG aim for a Champions League hat-trick
PSG have made an excellent start in Europe, thrashing Atalanta 4-0 at the Parc des Princes before coming away with a 2-1 success from Barcelona.
They now face Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena. The German side have drawn their opening two matches.
Leverkusen will look to pull off a famous victory, but the reigning champions are the favourites to secure their third victory in the competition.
