Estevao, Yoro, Lewis-Skelly among Premier League stars shortlisted for 2025 Golden Boy award

Nine Premier League stars have been shortlisted for the 2025 Golden Boy award, which is presented annually to the best U21 player in European football.

Chelsea’s Estevao and Jorrel Hato, Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, and Tottenham Hotspur duo Archie Grey and Lucas Bergvall are on the list.

Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly, Liverpool’s Giovanni Leoni and Manchester United’s Leny Yoro have also been nominated.

Yoro and Hato were also shortlisted for last year’s Golden Boy award, which was won by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

Estevao and Lewis-Skelly’s nominations are no surprise, as they were both short-listed for the Kopa Trophy.

Nwaneri has not enjoyed as much game time as Lewis-Skelly at Arsenal over the past year, but is highly rated by manager Mikel Arteta.

Gray enjoyed a brilliant debut season at Tottenham and was named the Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards in February.

Bergvall was voted Spurs’ Player of the Season last term and now holds the record as the second-youngest player to score and assist in a Premier League game for the club.

O’Reilly has featured in all but one league game for Man City this season, and recently received his maiden England call-up, underscoring his massive potential.

Leoni impressed in his debut season for Parma, earning him a move to Liverpool in the summer.
