West Ham United manager Graham Potter is on the brink of being sacked following the club’s dismal start to the new season.
Club chairman David Sullivan is considering his options after the defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday, which left them 19th in the Premier League with just three points.
According to the Guardian, no final decision has been made on Potter’s future, and he is expected to be in charge for their next league fixture at Everton.
The Hammers have held informal talks with Nuno Espirito Santo, who was recently sacked as Nottingham Forest manager.
The Portuguese led Forest to European qualification last season, but he was dismissed after a breakdown in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
West Ham are impressed with Nuno’s previous work at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Forest.
However, concerns have been raised over his financial demands, potentially opening the door for Slaven Bilic to return to the club.
The Hammers could ask the Croatian boss to step in on an interim basis until the end of the season.
Bilic managed the London club between 2015 and 2017. He guided them to a seventh-place Premier League finish in his debut campaign, but struggled thereafter.
David Moyes replaced him in November 2017, but the 57-year-old does not hold a grudge and is willing to return to the club.
Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui in January but has not sparked an improvement.
With a full pre-season under his belt and a positive summer transfer window, the English boss was expected to make a good start to the new season.
However, West Ham have been woeful, and Potter’s association with the club may end soon.
