Manchester City and the Egyptian national team are awaiting updates on Omar Marmoush after he suffered an injury, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The forward was withdrawn in the ninth minute during Egypt’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso, creating fresh concerns for both club and country.
Egypt manager Hossam Hassan looked troubled when Marmoush went down following a heavy challenge by Mohamed Zougrana in the fourth minute.

The forward attempted to carry on, but his discomfort was obvious. He later dropped to the ground, clutching his right knee.
Team doctors rushed on, and Omar Faisal replaced him. The 26-year-old was able to walk off without assistance, which offered the only real positive from the incident.
City facing fresh injury problems

The timing of the setback is worrying for manager Pep Guardiola, especially since City had struggled for results before the international break.
They recorded just one victory from their opening three matches in the Premier League.
When domestic football resumes, City face Manchester United in a high-pressure clash that could shape their season.
The loss of Marmoush would be another blow. Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €75 million in January. He has since become a key player.
Their setbacks add to the problems building up for Guardiola.
Both City and Egypt will be desperate for positive news in the coming days as scans determine the extent of Marmoush’s knee problem.
