Aston Villa open talks for Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier

Aston Villa are exploring a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier, according to Sky Sport Germany journalist Patrick Berger.

Despite the recent arrival of Evann Guessand from OGC Nice, the Midlands club are keen to add more firepower.

Manager Unai Emery wants an additional option who can bring pace and clinical finishing to his team.

Villa preparing £30m bid for Beier

Villa have already opened discussions with Beier’s representatives.

A formal offer of around £30 million is being prepared as they step up their pursuit of the German international.

However, Villa may need to sell players to remain within financial rules, even after offloading Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle United earlier this summer.

Beier bagged ten goals and six assists across all competitions for Dortmund last season.

His playing style combines speed, intelligence and versatility. He is known for sharp movement, clever positioning and an ability to exploit gaps in defences.

The German forward is comfortable using both feet and has the dribbling skills to beat opponents in one-on-one situations.

He is capable of playing through the middle as a central striker or operating from wide positions.

Beier’s anticipation and finishing make him a constant threat, while his work rate ensures he contributes off the ball as well.

A move for Beier would signal Villa’s intent to compete strongly on all fronts this season.
