Manchester City agree personal terms with Gianluigi Donnarumma

Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle with Italian international Gianluigi Donnarumma on personal terms, according to L’Equipe.

Donnarumma has already engaged in positive discussions with manager Pep Guardiola as the Premier League giants plot a move.

Despite starring for Les Parisiens en route to a historic treble last time out, Donnarumma has fallen out of favour at PSG, who have already signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille as their new number one.

PSG’s decision to move on from Donnarumma was highlighted by his exclusion from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup and his public farewell message to the club’s supporters.

With one year left on his current deal, PSG face the prospect of losing Donnarumma on a free transfer if they fail to agree a deal to part ways with him this summer.

City’s interest in Donnarumma is genuine but contingent on the departure of Ederson to avoid stockpiling too many options in the goalkeeping department after the arrival of James Trafford from Burnley.

Ederson is wanted by Galatasaray, opening the door for City to advance their pursuit of Donnarumma.

PSG are reportedly demanding around €50 million, a figure City will be looking to negotiate given the irreconcilable differences between Donnarumma and his club.

Donnarumma’s agent Enzo Raiola recently slammed PSG for their treatment of his client and even hinted at a legal battle.
