Turkish champions Galatasaray have tabled a bid worth €3 million to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, according to L’Equipe.
Gala are scouring the market for a new keeper following the recent departure of club legend Fernando Muslera to Argentine club Estudiantes.
The 39-year-old bid farewell to Turkish giants last month after 14 years, during which he won a plethora of trophies, including eight Super Lig titles.
Gala want to bring in a world-class shot-stopper to replace the Uruguayan, who ranks second in the club’s all-time appearances list (551).
Although they have Gunay Guvenc in their squad, the reigning Super Lig champions want a goalkeeper with Champions League pedigree between the sticks next season.
Ederson has emerged as a potential target as he is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The 31-year-old previously insisted that he would stay this season, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours from linking him with a move away.
Manager Pep Guardiola has a huge decision to make whether to allow Ederson to play out the final year of his contract or cash in on him this summer.
A contract extension is unlikely as City have been planning for the long-term future without the former Benfica star.
If they were to sell Ederson, City could turn towards Porto’s Diego Costa, who has long been touted as his successor.
Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen has also been linked with a move to City.
Gala have also lined up Inter Milan’s Yann Sommer as a potential target, but he is expected to stay at the San Siro this season.
They are also closing in on the much-awaited permanent signing of Victor Osimhen after reaching an agreement with Napoli to pay his €75m release clause.
