Inter Milan are considering Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller as a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, according to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari.
The Turkish midfielder is reportedly open to a move to Galatasaray, who have tabled a lucrative offer for him.
His rift with club captain Lautaro Martinez and president Beppe Marotta has driven him closer to an exit from the San Siro.
Since joining from arch-rivals AC Milan in 2021, Calhanoglu has become a prominent fixture for the Nerazzurri.
Originally an attacking midfielder, the 31-year-old transformed into a world-class deep-lying playmaker, helping the side become a juggernaut under former manager Simone Inzaghi.
The Nerazzurri are looking for around €40 million to part ways with Calhanoglu, who has also drawn interest from Manchester United and Fulham.
Stiller has been identified as the Turk’s successor following his remarkable rise in the Bundesliga.
The German international is one of the highly coveted central midfielders in Europe, drawing comparisons with his compatriot and former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.
The 24-year-old was instrumental in Stuttgart’s runners-up finish in the 2023/24 Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal triumph this year.
Stiller has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the club hasn’t made a concrete proposal.
He has a valuation of around €40 million, which seems reasonable given his potential.
Known for controlling the tempo and his diverse passing, Stiller would be an ideal signing for the Nerazzurri.
However, Inter have already signed Petar Sucic in this transfer window, and the Croatian midfielder shares a similar profile to Stiller.
Sucic has shown glimpses of his talent at the Club World Cup and is expected to play a prominent role this season.
The Nerazzurri also admire Nicolo Rovella, but Lazio have no intention of selling him.
