Napoli are eyeing a summer move for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
They have already signed Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City and are reportedly interested in Jack Grealish as part of their plans to improve their attack.
Nunez is another major target for the Serie A club. The Uruguayan striker is reportedly open to the move and would consider moving to Naples.
Nunez open to Napoli switch
Nunez joined Liverpool from Portuguese club Benfica in 2022, but has failed to live up to expectations.
Despite showing flashes of his quality, Nunez has been unable to consistently establish himself as the club’s first-choice striker.
He has missed numerous chances and been criticised for his lack of consistency in front of goal.
Nunez is attracting interest from some Saudi Pro League clubs, but the chance to move to Serie A could be tempting.
His physical strength, pace, and aggressive playing style make him a formidable player for defenders to contend with.
Nunez thrives when running behind the defence or attacking low crosses into the box. His hold-up play and work rate help link up with midfielders and create space for others.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte believes the forward’s energy and direct style could suit his team’s fast attacking approach.
The Serie A club are expected to make a decision soon as they continue to shape their squad for the upcoming season.
