Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.
The Dutchman beat Liam Delap, Anthony Elanga, Dean Huijsen, Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, William Saliba and 2023/24 winner Cole Palmer to the prize.
Gravenberch impressed in a new position at the base of the engine room, providing a platform for the rest of his teammates to shine.
He leads all Premier League midfielders with 59 interceptions and tops the charts at Liverpool for possession won, with his 189 ranking fifth-highest in the league.
Within the Liverpool squad, he sits second for passes and third for duels, tackles made, and minutes played.
Despite his primarily defensive duties, he also chipped in with four assists, proving influential across all areas of the pitch for Liverpool as they clinched the Premier League title.
It is a double win for Liverpool as talisman Mohamed Salah claimed the Premier League Player of the Season award.
Inexplicably, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo and Arsenal full-back Myles Lewis-Skelly did not make the young player shortlist.
Caicedo was a standout for Chelsea. The Ecuadorian is an expert ball-winner, and the Blues would have crumbled in several games this season without him.
The same goes for Hale End Academy graduate Lewis-Skelly, who has been crucial for Arsenal since switching to play left-back.
Lewis-Skelly is a dogged, technically proficient operator who made the left full-back position his but somehow did not get the recognition he deserved.
However, take nothing away from Gravenberch. The former Bayern Munich man arrived with questions and ended the season with medals.
He is a worthy winner in a season that demanded both brilliance and balance.
