Liverpool are advancing in negotiations to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez as they intensify plans to strengthen Arne Slot’s squad.
The Merseyside club have already moved swiftly in the market, reaching an agreement to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, with the right-back completing the first part of his medical.
Attention has shifted to the opposite flank, where Kerkez has emerged as Liverpool’s top target to succeed long-serving left-back Andy Robertson.
Talks with Bournemouth are ongoing and moving quickly, with both sides optimistic of striking a deal.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims the Reds have contacted Bournemouth and that discussions over the fee are advancing.
Kerkez is open to the move, and negotiations over personal terms are also progressing.
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes played a key role in signing Kerkez for Bournemouth last summer and is now leading efforts to bring him to Anfield.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League, scoring twice and registering five assists for the Cherries.
His form has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester City and Real Madrid, but Liverpool are leading the race.
Kerkez could become Bournemouth’s second major summer sale after Huijsen’s £50 million move to Real Madrid.
They are also braced for interest in Antoine Semenyo and expect to raise up to £150m from the sales of their most sought-after players.
Liverpool are not standing still after winning the Premier League title.
With Frimpong close and talks for Kerkez progressing, Liverpool’s early summer activity signals intent to remain at the top.
The arrival of two dynamic full-backs would add depth, youth and attacking quality to a side that is not looking to settle after its domestic triumph.
