Mourinho sanctions Fenerbahce move for Sancho as Chelsea stall on Man Utd

Turkish giants Fenerbahce could offer Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho an escape route this summer.

According to journalist Yeni Asir, head coach Jose Mourinho has approved a transfer swoop for the winger.

Fenerbahce failed to topple Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig again. They have already started planning an assault on the transfer market to give Mourinho what he needs next season.

Sancho is on their transfer wishlist, and they will try to get him to sign on the dotted line. It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old is open to a transfer outside Europe’s top five leagues.

However, not many clubs will be queuing for his signature after his petulance at Man Utd and underperformance at Chelsea. He may have no choice but to accept Fenerbahce’s advances.

Borussia Dortmund reportedly decided not to pursue his signature anymore, limiting his options in the Bundesliga.

There were rumours Bayer Leverkusen were interested, but they may be too busy finding a new coach to replace Xabi Alonso.

Sancho seems better suited to the German top flight and could form an exciting pairing with new Leverkusen man Ibrahim Maza, with Florian Wirtz close to leaving. But nothing is set in stone.

The only thing assured for Sancho this summer is that his chapter at Man Utd is closed, and with Chelsea reluctant about making his transfer permanent, he needs to find a new stomping ground.

The England international needs an environment where he can bounce back to his best form after an underwhelming campaign.
