Aston Villa are reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper, casting doubt over Emiliano Martinez’s future at the club.
The Argentine has been one of Villa’s most reliable performers in recent seasons. He is currently one of their highest earners.
Despite his key role under manager Unai Emery, the club are now exploring other goalkeeping options. They may target a younger goalie with similar qualities.
According to Mail Sport, Villa will consider offers for Martinez if Emery and his coaching staff feel a suitable replacement is available.
The 32-year-old has been the first choice since joining from Arsenal. However, the club are open to a change this summer.
Goalkeeper reshuffle expected as summer window nears

Robin Olsen, who has served as Martinez’s back-up, is set to leave this summer. He is expected to sign for his hometown club, Malmo, in Sweden.
His exit means there will be changes in the goalkeeping group, and Villa appear ready to act quickly.
Villa are also aware of financial rules within the Premier League. They must sell at least one major player before June 30 to meet the league’s spending limits.
Martinez could leave the club if Villa receive a strong offer for him.
According to transfermarkt, his market value is around €25 million. However, Villa will likely ask for more if they agree to let him go.
Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly interested in Martinez. The World Cup winner has attracted plenty of attention in recent transfer windows.
Aston Villa are currently seventh in the Premier League and pushing hard for a Champions League place next season.
The club want to keep improving and will reshape the squad where needed. That may include one or two surprise exits this summer.
