Eintracht Frankfurt have raised their valuation for striker sensation Hugo Ekitike as they prepare for his sale this summer.
After selling Omar Marmoush to Manchester City in January for €70 million, the German giants are looking to extract an exorbitant fee for Ekitike, who is at the centre of a heated transfer race.
Florian Plettenberg reports that Frankfurt have increased Ekitike’s transfer fee from €80m to €100m, which would make him a club-record sale.
The French prospect has been in extraordinary form this season, growing into one of Europe’s most coveted strikers.
The 21-year-old has revived his career at Frankfurt following an underwhelming stint at Paris Saint-Germain.
He has netted 21 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.
His incredible performances have helped Frankfurt move to third place in the Bundesliga table and reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League before bowing out to Tottenham Hotspur.
Premier League giants including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United have thrown their hat into the ring for Ekitike’s signature.
Man Utd are keen on signing a top-class centre-forward in the summer transfer window following the lacklustre form of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund this season.
They have lacked a prolific No.9 in recent years and plan to fix the issue ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko are other strikers on United’s wishlist.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their attack due to the potential departures of forwards Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez this summer.
Newcastle have identified Ekitike as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who continues to attract interest from top clubs.
Besides Ekitike, Chelsea and Arsenal are also battling for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, who is available for around €70 million in the summer.
