Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he has “no idea” whether he will remain Tottenham Hotspur manager beyond the end of the season.
Spurs are currently sitting 15th in the Premier League after collecting just 37 points from 32 matches.
However, Tottenham could still win silverware this season, as they are set to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final second leg of the Europa League.
The English side were held to a 1-1 draw in London after a goalkeeping masterclass from Frankurt’s Kaua Santos.
He has emerged as a summer target for Spurs following his excellent display, as reported by WhiteHeartLane.com.
Postecoglou’s side will now look to produce a better display at the Deutsche Bank Park, a venue where the Eagles have won their previous four European matches without conceding.
A defeat would crank up the pressure on Postecoglou, but he says he doesn’t know what the future holds for him.
When asked about the prospect of losing his position at Spurs, Postecoglou said: “No – no idea. We have a game tomorrow night, but it’s not something I need to think about.
“I’ve never thought about those things in terms of what is important.
“What is important is the game that’s a massive opportunity for this group of players and this football club to get closer to achieving what everyone wants to achieve.
“Anything other than that, particularly in terms of me, I don’t really have much thought process that thinks about my career or what I’m doing in that way.”
Tottenham will have to produce a special performance to beat Frankfurt in their own backyard.
Dino Toppmoller’s side head into Thursday’s game on the back of a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Heidenheim, with the result keeping them in the Bundesliga’s top four.
Spurs were defeated 4-2 at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend. They have also lost on six of their previous seven visits to Germany in the knockout stage of a European competition.
