Arsenal are looking to sign a new striker in the summer. The club has been linked with several players, including Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres.
Isak is reportedly the top target. Manager Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the Newcastle United striker, who has bagged 23 goals and five assists this season.
Journalist David Ornstein claims Arsenal are also interested in Gyokeres. The Sporting CP forward could be a more realistic option than Isak.

Gyokeres has been in top form this season, tallying 42 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
Isak is a better option for Arsenal
While Gyokeres is a talented goalscorer, Isak is the better fit for Arteta’s system.
The Swedish striker’s ability to link up play makes him a perfect choice. He is comfortable on the ball, can dribble and fits Arsenal’s attacking style.
Arsenal’s system relies on fluid movement, pressing and combination play. Isak ticks all these boxes.
By contrast, Gyokeres thrives in counter-attacking situations and could struggle in Arsenal’s possession-based set-up.
Isak is familiar with the Premier League. Gyokeres may need time to adjust. Arsenal need a striker who can deliver from day one, and Isak offers that.

Isak played with Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino at Real Sociedad. They won the 2019/20 Copa del Rey together. This could help him settle at Arsenal much faster.
They are both quality strikers who would improve Arsenal’s attack. However, given his playing style and familiarity with the Premier League, Isak is the more intelligent choice.
