Manchester United are one of several clubs interested in signing Southampton star Tyler Dibling.
Bayern Munich, Liverpool, RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the teenager.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Man United have an ace card as technical director Jason Wilcox knows the winger from his time at Southampton.
Dibling broke through at Southampton this season, catching the eye with superb performances that have belied his age.
He put on a clinical performance when he faced Man United earlier this season, earning plaudits from several respected pundits.
Dibling is tipped to return to the Premier League if Southampton drop into the Championship. Man Utd will try to place themselves ahead of the queue for his signature.
The Red Devils are preparing to lose Jadon Sancho and Antony this summer and need reinforcements for the flanks. Dibling is on their transfer wishlist to strengthen the ranks.
Man Utd can do better than Tyler Dibling
Man Utd desperately need attacking additions this summer. However, they can do better than a teenage attacker who has started just 17 Premier League games.
United need players who can deliver goals and assists. Dibling has tallied two goals and no assists in 25 league outings this term.
The move would make sense if United sent him on loan to gain experience. It would be a mistake if they kept him for the first team.
He is not capable of consistently delivering for a club of Man Utd’s stature. The youngster has his whole career ahead of him to earn big moves.
He should not be overly ambitious this early.
