Manchester United are set to offload several players in the summer to finance new signings and avoid breaching the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Forward Marcus Rashford, midfielders Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, and defender Victor Lindelof are expected to leave the club.
Veteran centre-back Jonny Evans could also depart when his contract expires in the summer. Antony, currently on loan at Real Betis, may have already played his last game for United.
Their departures would significantly reduce United’s wage bill, as they are among the club’s highest earners.
Casemiro earns £350,000 weekly, making him United’s top earner, while Rashford earns £300,000. Eriksen and Lindelof are on £150,000 and £120,000 weekly, respectively.
Offloading these players would save the club approximately £47 million annually, providing much-needed financial flexibility for new signings.
Antony and Evans’ exits could save United a further £6.5m, strengthening their position to reinforce the squad with quality signings.
However, moving Casemiro could prove challenging due to his hefty wages and age.
The Brazilian was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL) during the winter transfer window, but a deal never materialised. Roma also reportedly showed interest in him.
Casemiro has improved his performances recently and is in contention for United’s Player of the Month award for March.
His resurgence could attract potential suitors, although he may need to take a significant pay cut to facilitate a transfer.
Rashford and Antony are impressing on loan at Aston Villa and Betis, respectively, and should not struggle to secure permanent moves.
Lindelof could be on the verge of a return to Portugal, with Benfica reportedly keen on re-signing him. He joined United from the Portuguese club in 2017.
