Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared updates on the injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate.
The duo limped off during their recent Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, raising concerns as the Reds prepare for their League Cup final against Newcastle.
Alexander-Arnold was substituted in the second half after picking up a worrying ankle injury. Slot told Liverpoolfc.com that it is too early to determine the extent of the injury.
However, Slot was more optimistic about Konate’s situation. He revealed the defender was likely just tired or suffering from cramps and should be ready for Sunday’s clash.

Alexander-Arnold’s injury is a big blow to Liverpool
Alexander-Arnold’s potential absence could be a huge blow for Liverpool. He has formed a strong partnership with Mohamed Salah on the right flank.
His ability to deliver accurate crosses and provide attacking support has been crucial to Slot’s tactics this season.
However, Liverpool’s injury woes do not end there. Right-back options Connor Bradley and Joe Gomez are also sidelined.
This forced Slot to deploy young centre-back Jarell Quansah in the Champions League game. While he has shown promise, playing him in a high-stakes final could be risky.
Liverpool fans are also concerned that if Alexander-Arnold’s injury keeps him out for a long time, he could have played his final game for the club.
The right-back continues to attract interest from Real Madrid and has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
Newcastle will also be without key players for the final. Anthony Gordon is suspended, Lewis Hall is out for the season, and Sven Botman is nursing a knee injury.
