PSG drop interest in signing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly ended the pursuit of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, despite long-standing interest in him.

The former Chelsea attacker has been linked to a move to the French capital, but Le Parisien claims he is no longer a transfer target, leaving a cloud hanging over his future.

Salah has previously hinted that this could be his final season at Anfield, although discussions over a potential contract renewal remain ongoing.

Despite being eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club, no formal decision has been made regarding his next move.

The 32-year-old has been in sensational form this season, recording 32 goals and 22 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

His prolific output continues to attract interest from several clubs, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a potential destination.

Salah is an icon in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and they would love to make him the face of the Saudi Pro League (SPL) as they bid to increase the profile of their top flight.

With PSG stepping away from the race, SPL clubs could return with another mouth-watering proposal in the coming months.

Liverpool believe they can keep Salah beyond June. Sporting director Richard Hughes is working tirelessly to get him to sign on the dotted line.

The same goes for defensive stalwart Virgil Van Dijk, who is also in the final year of his contract.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to leave his boyhood club for Real Madrid. Talks with the England international regarding a new deal have not progressed.
