
Bayern Munich beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in their Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie this evening, with Harry Kane playing a key role.
Kane gave Bayern the lead early on, heading in a cross from Michael Olise. The goal took his tally for the season to 30 goals and 10 assists in 34 games across all competitions.
The England international centre-forward has scored 30+ goals in three consecutive seasons for the first time in his career.
Kane has now scored 30+ goals in a season for the seventh time in his club career.
Since the first season he shceived the feat (2014/15), only Robert Lewandowski has had more 30+ goal campaigns (nine) for clubs in Europe’s big-five leagues.

Bayern had the lead, and Jamal Musiala doubled it with his 17th goal of the season. The German has come under fire for failing to turn up in big games, but he left his mark on this one.
The home side were all over Leverkusen, and Nordi Mukiele received his marching orders for a stamp on Kingsley Coman, leaving Die Werkself with plenty of work to do.
Things went from bad to worse when Leverkusen conceded a penalty, which Kane stepped up and converted to double his tally.
Bayern needed this win to establish dominance in the Champions League and send a statement to Leverkusen, who are also chasing them in the Bundesliga.
They have one foot in the quarter-finals if they can successfully navigate the second leg at the BayArena next week.
Kane will be looking forward to lifting his first trophy at the end of the season with their healthy eight-point lead at the Bundesliga summit.
He will be determined to spearhead Bayern as they bid to make a deep run in Europe.
