Barcelona president Joan Laporta has repeatedly claimed to have turned down several offers for young sensation Lamine Yamal.
The 17-year-old has risen to superstardom following a series of outstanding performances for club and country.
The prodigy played a massive role in Spain’s run to European Championship glory last year and is spearheading Barca’s title charge across multiple fronts this season.
After spurring Spain to Euro 2024 success, Yamal was subject to a mind-boggling £211 million bid from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
There hasn’t been any indication that they’ll return with another bid, but with Yamal coming to the end of his contract, the transfer speculation isn’t going away.
Yamal’s current contract with Barca runs out at the end of next season, but he has reportedly agreed to an extension once he turns 18 in July.
For the first time since Laporta turned down PSG’s offer, the La Masia academy graduate has addressed the transfer rumour, reiterating his commitment to the Catalan giants.
“I don’t get them, but if someone close to me did, they wouldn’t have told me,” Yamal told Mundo Deportivo.
“First, and above all, because I had a contract and then because I think it is unfeasible for me to go to another club.”
Yamal also spoke about his connection with Barca and his loyalty to the Blaugranas.
“It’s the only club I’ve been at apart from La Torreta, which was the team I started at,” he added. “But yes, I owe everything to Barca.
“I don’t think anyone doubts what I am like as a Barca fan, how much I love this club. I don’t think anyone can doubt what I feel for this club.”
Yamal has notched 11 goals and 15 assists in 32 games across all competitions and will be looking to improve his tally when Barca takes on Las Palmas this weekend.
Barca are sitting top of the La Liga table ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference after 24 games.
