West Ham United fans couldn’t wait to see the back of previous manager Julen Lopetegui.
The Hammers have subsequently won once under his replacement Graham Potter. Be careful what you wish for and all that.
His lousy win rate in the Premier League should have been a red flag for the club, but it appears they hadn’t been paying attention.
West Ham will regret handing the reins to Potter
West Ham’s disappointing home defeat against Brentford today left them 16th in the Premier League standings.
Any hope that Potter could guide the team towards a top-10 finish is already over. Relegation to the Championship could still happen.
Much like his predecessor, Potter is failing to get the best out of a squad which is not living up to expectations.
Potter’s so-called status as a ‘tactical genius’ is laughable. His in-game management is poor, while his lack of tactical flexibility is telling.
The club’s decision to appoint him looked extremely questionable. If things continue in the same vein, he won’t last long at the London Stadium.
